Bathing in Acuvue Oasys Contact Lense
Swimming in Acuvue Oasys Contact Lense bears the risk of contamination of the contact lenses with micro-organisms and the subsequent development of the infection. The most serious complication - microbial keratitis - caused by the presence in water by acanthameba and Pseudomonas. When swimming in soft contact lenses in chlorinated pool water, according to some studies, the contact lens acts as a protective screen that protect the cornea from the effects of chlorine (which usually leads to the development of edema of the cornea, so that a swimmer after being in such water reduces his/her visual acuity and around the source of light he/she sees a halo). As a result, swimmers, who wear contact lenses, had no reduction in visual acuity, no changes in the cornea when viewed through a slit lamp and decreases the size of the halo around lights, and after removal of the contact lenses there were no adverse effects.
